Berewick Elementary

Fourth Grade

Believe It To Achieve It

My name is Susan Echols and this will be my 16th year of teaching in an elementary school. I decided to become a teacher when my girls started kindergarten. I received my undergraduate degree from Appalachian State in 1987 and my teaching certification many years later from Mercer University in Atlanta. 5 years ago I earned my National Board Certification in Literacy. I am a mother of twin girls, Lauren and Hannah, who are both nurses in Birmingham, Alabama. I love cats and dogs but do not have one and I love to travel. My favorite color is pink, I enjoy reading books, chewing gum, and sitting on the beach. I look forward to another great year at Berewick!

Mrs. Nickel

My name is Jaclyn Nickel and I'm teaching 4th grade Math and Science for the 2019 - 2020 school year. This will be my eighth year teaching. However, I have been involved in the lives of children ever since I was in middle school, often baby sitting for children of all ages in my hometown and volunteering my time in elementary schools while I was a high school student. I graduated in the Spring of 2012 from Florida Atlantic University in Boca Raton, Florida with a degree in Elementary Education and later moved to Charlotte in October of 2015. I strongly believe that each and every child can learn and I look forward to an exciting school year!

Here at Berewick we are #bobcatstrong!
